Before I even start planning a day out, my first port of call is always to check the weather for the exact town you are going to. If I were you, I’d check the surrounding counties for family days out - every time I head out my little boy always wants to know what else is near by as he has an insatiatable appetite for fun!

If you’re headed for an outdoor attraction, don’t forget to pack all weather clothes in case bad weather sets in. It’s also handy to pack up a change of clothes for the kids (little accidents happen when you least expect them) and a packet of wet wipes can be a godsend!

Bring an emergency snack and drink for the kids.

Don’t forget your road map, even the best navigators or GPS take a wrong turn sometimes!
